Stains can develop for many reasons, some of which include: smoking, coffee, red wine, blueberries, and trauma to a teeth causing it to die.
Some patients prefer to have the whitening done in the office. If so, we have the patient appointed for one hour to do an in office bleaching. The results are immediate. If need be, a second one hour appointment will follow a week later to achieve an excellent result. The patient is then told to follow up at home with a whitening kit to maintain the desired results over time.
If the patient is motivated to whiten at home under Dr. Gary Klein’s supervision, a take home whitening kit is given to the patient with custom made whitening trays. The patient can apply the bleaching gel for 30 minutes twice a day and achieve impressive results in as little as 3-5 days. The take home system is the most cost effective and is extremely popular amongst patients.
If a teeth has discoloured because the nerve has died, bleaching can be done from within the teeth with excellent results. Dr Klein can actually improve the colour of the discoloured teeth to resemble what it used to be like!
For interested patients, we recommend that you come in for a complimentary consultation at our dental office on St. Clair and Dufferin to see which teeth whitening system will work best for your teeth.
