Bridges are replacements for missing teeth. They are cemented/ fixed into the mouth and are not removeable. We can use natural teeth to bridge/fill an empty space of missing teeth.
Implant dentistry will give us the opportunity to make bridges where there are some teeth, or even no teeth remaining. We are able to give patients more choices to have fixed/cemented implant bridges that are not removable and look very beautiful.
Having a bridge placed should noticeably improve your ability to chew and enjoy eating more. You will no longer have a favoured side to chew with; instead your chewing will be more balanced.
The porcelain materials that are available today give us many choices to make teeth look very natural and vibrant. As well, we can build translucent colours into the tooth to match the other teeth. The strength of these materials is impressive especially if we are dealing with multiple missing teeth.
